The new Gare Routière El Azzouzia replaced the old Bab Doukkala intercity bus terminal. On July 24, 2026, all national and international intercity bus operations transferred to the El Azzouzia terminal. The old terminal at Bab Doukkala is permanently closed for long-distance bus travel.

Location and Terminal Features

The terminal is located in the El Azzouzia district in northwest Marrakech, roughly 18 minutes from Gueliz via road 3214.

• Infrastructure: The terminal features 64 coach bays and 30 ticket counters.
• Operators: All national and international intercity coach companies, including CTM, Supratours, and Trans Ghazala, operate their long-distance departures and arrivals from this location.

City Bus Connections (Lines 15 and 16)

Public city buses connect the new terminal directly to Gueliz, the Gare ONCF train station area, and Jemaa el-Fna. A single trip on regular city buses costs 4 MAD, paid in cash to the driver.

Line 16 (El Azzouzia ↔ Jemaa el-Fna)

• Route: Runs directly between El Azzouzia and Arset El Bilk (Jemaa el-Fna). Key stops include Sidi Ghanem, Carre Eden and Grande Poste in Gueliz, Bab Doukkala, and Koutoubia.
• Travel Time: Approximately 45 minutes end-to-end.
• Operating Hours: Runs from 06:20 to 22:30 with buses arriving every 15 to 19 minutes.
• Fare: 4 MAD.

Line 15 (El Azzouzia ↔ Jemaa el-Fna)

• Route: Connects Jemaa el-Fna to Sidi Ghanem and El Azzouzia, passing through Gueliz along McDonald’s and Grande Poste.
• Travel Time: Approximately 30 minutes.
• Operating Hours: Operates from 06:10 until 21:45.
• Fare: 4 MAD.

Taxi Rates to Central Marrakech

Taxis operate continuously outside the main terminal entrance.

Petit Taxi (Metered)

• Fare: A daytime trip on the meter between central Marrakech (Gueliz or the Medina) and El Azzouzia costs between 30 MAD and 40 MAD.
• Night Tariff: Fares increase by 50% after dark, bringing the cost to 45 MAD to 60 MAD.
• Rule: Drivers must turn on the meter at the start of your journey.

Grand Taxi

• Terminal Rank: A dedicated rank uses a numbered system to organize grand taxis.
• Private Hire: Chartering a full private grand taxi ride to central districts costs between 60 MAD and 100 MAD.
